CBS Music is the Choir and Orchestra of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Christchurch. The Cathedral Choir presents a Solemn Mass at 10:30 am every Sunday at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, 373 Manchester Street, exploring a wide repertoire through orchestral, contemporary, polyphonic and plainsong Mass settings. Regular concerts and recording opportunities, which feature the associated Cathedral Orchestra, include an annual St John Passion and Messiah. During many overseas tours, the CBS Choir and Orchestra have performed in most of the world’s major cathedrals and churches.

The choir rehearses each Wednesday, with a supper break at 8.45 pm. A wide range of ages and backgrounds is represented, united by a love of sacred music. Newcomers are always welcome, and will be given an opportunity to audition after a familiarisation period.

Anyone interested in joining as singer, player or supporter, is welcome. Further information, and contact details, may be found on the CBS web page.

The Opera Club meets quarterly or more frequently depending on programme. The objectives are to develop opera singers , provide performance opportunities, host concerts and contribute to local events.
Performing members receive up to 4 hours of individual coaching from Artistic Director Sharolyn Kimmorley AM, and the opportunity to participate in dance and movement workshops throughout the year.

A Capellago meet on Tuesday nights during the school term from 7.30pm – 9.30pm at the Phillipstown Hub. We are a small, mixed voice choir and are open to new members. It is an auditioned choir. Members need to memorize all their music. We learn at quite a fast pace, so singers need to be fairly experienced and sing accurately. We sing in a wide variety of languages and also sing contemporary songs in English. Ease with syncopation is a must.
We are a very warm, friendly, social group who aim high but don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Open Song is a non auditioned choir that meets for the last seven weeks of every school term on Wednesday nights, from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. We sing music from around the world and contemporary songs in English. We welcome people of all ages and abilities. We aim high, in a fun, supportive environment.

We meet Thursday evenings 7.30pm – 9pm.
Non auditioned SATB with pianist Dale McKay. No need to read music, relaxed welcoming group who meet for the joy of singing and performing in the wider Geraldine Community.
